Walkin' Through Your Walls John 20:19 - Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the door were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto You." Springtime is the most beautiful time of year, when new life breaks forth everywhere. After the months of cold weather, the flowers and trees display their array and their fragrance. What a perfect time to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. His death and resurrection gives to all who believe a new life and a new beginning. The resurrected Christ stepped through the wall to manifest Himself to the disciples who were locked away behind closed doors. In their minds it was all over - the dreams...the plans. Their future lay shattered on the ground. They are experiencing grief, disappointment, uncertainty and fear. The walls had gone up in their lives; walls that will prevent them from continuing to do his will. Peter has walls of regret and unworthiness because he denied. Thomas has walls of unbelief and doubt. (I am so glad Jesus can walk through the walls that Satan tries to put up in our lives.) Then Jesus walked in the midst and they beheld Him. Their fears vanished. Faith was restored and the future looked brighter now. The dark night of despair is over. Jesus is Alive! Jesus spoke, "Peace be unto you." What powerful words. Words that brought in the sunshine and seemed to give purpose and meaning to life again. We all have hard times just like the disciples did. We have times of grief and disappointment, and times of regret and guilt over failures. We also have times of fear as to what our future holds. I am so glad that Jesus is alive and well and he can walk through the wall and speak peace. Just know today that he is bigger than all our problems, bigger than all our fears. He can speak peace and calm the troubled waters of your soul, mend your broken heart and make you whole. When the storms of your life grow dark and cold, he is still the peace speaker. Hallelujah! He still walks through the walls. He has conquered death, hell and the grave. He is Alive! I will close with a chorus of a song... "Peace, peace...wonderful peace...coming down from the Father above. Sweep over my spirit forever, I pray, in fathomless billows of love." May God Bless your life with springtime- with a breaking forth on every side with something new and wonderful! God Bless, Margie |
